I met a guy on my morning Hike named Paul from east LA. If you don’t know me, I love all things LA so I was excited to talk to him. He was more interested in talking about Hawaii. He said “I feel safe here. How is it that I partied with a Brazilian, a Japanese, a Hawaiian and a Greek person all in one night! And everybody was cool and having a good time?” I replied “We are an international city and there is a lot of aloha. It’s beautiful right?” He said, “Yes it is I want to live here.” Hawaii is so much more beautiful than just it’s beaches and waterfalls and mountains and blue sky... it has a powerful healing and spiritual energy. We have tons of problems like anywhere, but we are mostly focused on caring for each other. We are not always successful and we forget sometimes, but the well being of others is an integral part of our way of life. I know people feel that when they come here for the first time. It’s good to be reminded.
