Wicked Composer! I got to work with the Musical Genius Stephen Schwartz!

So we are besties now. We have sushi and discuss our mutual friends, sing a little and talk about the Importance of showing the passage of time and Character development. I mean the man just has musical ideas and character insights coming out of his pores. So cool and generous with his wisdom.

The first time I met him I said who’s Stephen Schwartz? I was met with blank stares and dropped mouths. You know the guy who ceated Godspell (1971), Pippin (1972) and Wicked (2003). He has contributed lyrics for Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), The Prince of Egypt (1998; music and lyrics) and Enchanted (2007).

Holy crap! This guy is no joke!

(Whilst writing this, my cat just brought a half alive bird to my feet. ) An offering of thanks? How can I offer my gratitude to all the musical knowledge that I am receiving?

Our presentation of a new project, Hawaiian Godess for the Princess.

Something weird happened, during the performance I was chanting, and the sound went out! Ah freak out!

I feel like that was a blessing. We all got goosebumps and kept going.

I am in awe of the talent that comes from Hawaii. Every person on that stage has offered so much of themeselves to this project, whole heartedly. Not an ounce of ego in the group. I had a conversation with a new friend, that pointed out that Hawaii is home to emotionally intelligent people. To me that is a breeding ground for nurturing creativity.

I can’t wait to see where this project goes!
